About the Author
Deborah begin ballroom dancing in her early 30′s after a divorce from her high-school sweetheart. She was struck by the many life lessons dance had to offer and began writing about her journey to self through ballroom dance. Dance Me Beautiful is her first book. She is currently writing the sequel, Dance Me Joy.
Deborah is also releasing her first children’s chapter book, The Magic Comes Back, A Max and Sam Adventure, in the fall of 2012.
She loves speaking to small and large audiences about overcoming the challenges on the path to living an authentic, meaningful and joyful life.
When she is not dancing, writing or speaking, she practices Collaborative Family Law and Mediation. She also teaches at Osgoode Hall Law School and has spoken or led workshops at the annual conferences of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Certified Divorce Financial Analysts and the World Congress on the Rights of Children and Family Law.
Deborah has been quoted with respect to Collaborative Practice in the Globe and Mail and Chatelaine magazine. She was featured in Esteem, a Canadian Magazine for Professional Women, for her compassionate approach to assisting separating families. She has also been interviewed about Collaborative Practice on CBC Ontario Today.
Deborah has been featured in several videos for the public launched in the winter of 2011 by the Ontario Collaborative Lawyers Federation.
